PACES PACES™ - Parametric Cost Engineering System

PACES is a parametric cost estimating system which is used primarily for development of programming or budgetary cost estimates in support of the MILCON Program, such as for military facilities, family housing, medical, and operation and maintenance projects. It is produced by AECOM and is used extensively by the Air Force, Navy, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The PACES system uses a parametric methodology adjusting cost models for estimating project costs. The cost models are based on generic engineering solutions for building and site work projects, technologies, and processes. The generic engineering solutions were derived from historical project information, government laboratories, construction management agencies, vendors, contractors, and engineering analysis. When the user creates an estimate in PACES they can tailor the generic engineering solutions to reflect specific quantities of work and information is priced using current cost data. Costs are automatically adjusted for the project location and markups and escalation are automatically applied. Antiterrorism/Force Protection costs can also be applied, if desired. PACES has both English and Metric capabilities.

PACES is a comprehensive program incorporating cost models for new facility construction, basic site work, and building alteration/renovation.

Cost engineers in the Tri-Service Cost Engineering Community of Practice needing PACES should submit the completed registration form (available from AKO/DKO) to AECOM as directed on the form. Contact your agency's PACES representative for all other assistance.

PACES is available for download from AKO/DKO and the Air Force website; however, registration keys are required to run the software. Registration keys may only be obtained as described above.

Download of applications, databases, and documentation is currently available on AKO/DKO for cost engineers in the Tri-Service Cost Engineering Community of Practice.
