Tri-Service Automated Cost Engineering Systems (TRACES)
MII MII – MCACES (Micro-Computer Aided Cost Estimating System), Second Generation

MII is used mostly by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and A-E firms for the preparation of detailed construction cost estimates. The software is used for the preparation of programming estimates, current working estimates, bid opening estimates and construction modification estimates in support of the MILCON, Civil Works, and Hazardous Toxic Waste programs.

A-E's needing the MII software, its libraries, and/or its documentation should contact the point-of-contact (POC) for the contract being worked on. That office's cost engineering chief and/or MII POC should be able to assist the A-E and should be aware of any specific requirements of the pertinent contract. If the cost engineering office requires assistance from the TRACES team, any contact must by made by the cost engineering office on behalf of the A-E. A-E's not working for the government are not allowed access to MII.

USACE cost engineers or others whose site license has been paid by their respective district and who are in the Tri-Service Cost Engineering Telephone Directory and Outlook Distribution List can submit a request to ACE-IT to install the latest version of MII. The latest supporting files (e.g. libraries, documentation) are available from AKO/DKO and can be downloaded by the USACE individual with the site license.

Other federal agancies who desire MII should submit a request to HQUSACE through the TRACES Program Team Leader.

NOTE: It is important to read installation documentation including any "readme" files. Otherwise MII may not operate as expected. Instructions concerning activation of the Cost Book in MII are contained in these documents.

Should you need additional information, please contact the TRACES project manager in charge of MII.

Download of applications, databases, and documentation is currently available on AKO/DKO for cost engineers in the Tri-Service Cost Engineering Community of Practice.
