Environmental & Munitions Center of Expertise,
Military Munitions Division (CX-MM)

Mission

The Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise, MM Division supports the USACE Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) and other munitions related operations in reducing the human health and environmental risk associated with munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) and munitions constituents (MC). To achieve this mission:

  • We will maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise for all aspects of the munitions response process.
  • We will assist HQUSACE in the development, dissemination, and implementation of technical, legal and management guidance, policy, and procedures for MMRP and other munitions related projects.
  • We will assist Districts in planning, programming, and budgeting for MMRP projects.
  • We will provide programmatic oversight for MMRP and other munitions related projects through independent technical reviews, lessons learned, and identification of training requirements.
  • We will manage and provide oversight of the HQUSACE FUDS MMRP Site Inspections.
  • We will assist HQUSACE in the periodic review of the Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) MMRP status and progress.
  • We will coordinate and partner with other DOD and DA agencies, USACE activities, and state and federal regulators and stakeholders.
