DID YOU KNOW ... The 4 essential elements of an effective security system are: Detection, Assessment, Delay and Response. Detection should be continuous rings and layers of different sensor technologies beginning as far from the protected resources as possible; Assessment should be immediate direct or camera aided viewing of 100% of the exterior perimeter alarms with each camera Field of View to encompass the entire sensor detection area that becomes active, additional cameras may be required and dedicated for areas where the lack of space creates a vulnerability for an immediate and complete assessment; Delay time whether provided by physical barriers, distance or both should be greater than the intercept time of the response force which may be enhanced by strategic posting of Security Forces and finally, the Response should be planned, rehearsed and practiced against realistic attack scenarios and utilize resources proportional to the value of the assets protected. Good response also includes proper training and continuity of personnel serving as the ESS operators.
