Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program
Huntsville Center
(CEHNC) is responsible for the design and development for all test, tactical,
and tactical support facilities. Black & Veatch Architects and Engineers
Special Project Division, Overland Park, KS, is under contract with CEHNC to
perform A&E services for the design of the sites test, tactical and
tactical support facilities.

The Corps of Engineers’
GMD Team combines the talents and expertise of the Huntsville Center, the
Alaska District (CEPOA), the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory
(ERDC (CRREL & CERL), the Honolulu District (CEPOH), the Omaha District
(CENWO), and the Transatlantic Programs Center (CETAC).
Each district is responsible for the design and development of the
non-tactical support facilities and the program construction in their area and
will provide expertise in the design and development of the facilities.

Based Radar Prototype Facilities, U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the
Marshall Islands (Designed by Black & Veatch, Kansas City, MO, construction
managed by U.S. Army Engineer Division, Pacific Ocean).

Interceptor Communications System (IFICS) Test Facility, U.S. Army Kwajalein
Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands (Designed by BMD Design Team, U.S. Army
Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville).
